Now for your latest miss_k8 update...(cue official sounding "news" music)...

NEWS FLASH! k8 actually takes one step further toward completing a college degree! Relatives are flabbergasted, offering her money for tuition! Shocking!
Yep, I actually petitioned for a transfer degree and then went to my "new" school to fill out paperwork for undergraduate admission. Now just have to choose a major/minor. So I'll have anywhere from two to six more years to go...

My darling eighty year old grandmother and I spoke by phone yesterday, on her second day of recovery from knee replacement surgery. There is simply nothing sillier than hearing your grandmother talk about what she just had for lunch when she is doped up on painkillers. We had a scare directly following her surgery when her blood pressure dropped really low, but now she is tip-top.

My dog has recovered from her illness, and now thinks that she deserves treats every hour (that's what she got when she was sick and I felt sorry for her). She keeps romping about the room like a circus freak when I reach for anything on the kitchen counter.

The phenomenon continues: Either I am a split personality or I have a Portland "twin"...Beginning two years ago, I have been stopped in the street/hugged/approached/chatted up by random strangers who think I am someone else. This someone else supposedly looks "exactly" like me and...get this...shares the same first name! Eeek! The latest incident happened last week in a bar. This woman runs up to me as I walk in and says "My god! I hardly recognized you! Your hair is so long!" Then she cocked her head to the side like a confused puppy, presumably at the realization that I had not yet made her acquaintance, said "Oh.." and walked off.
