So it's been pretty much two weeks since I just got my car back from Ames where they repainted the front bumper and fenders (they were pretty rock-chipped up, and I had done an awful job trying to respray them myself), and they also had to replace a handful of suspension components damaged when I had hit a pothole.
Needless to say, I am not too happy to have to be bringing the car back in. Why?
Well last night, I was headed home from my girlfriend's house, and I was only about 1 minute away from my house, turning right from 66th to 153rd, I stopped to yield and when I was about to proceed I got royally popped from behind. The individual in question, apparently had just gotten off work from a bar (I don't know which one), and apparently was rather impatient to get home. His first reaction was to get mad at me. "Why did you stop, there was no traffic?" He kept yelling over and over again. This made it evident to me that when he was making the right turn he was looking for traffic and not looking ahead of him. I always yield, check the traffic, then proceed. Anyway the guy had ended up on the little corner median, and had actually hit my rear driver's side with his front passenger side. He must've made a second mistake when he actually saw me, which was obviously to try and brake, and steer, at the same time. It was obvious by how far he actually got up on the median that he must have been travelling at an unusually high rate of speed for yielding a right turn.
So now the car has to go back in, and I need a new rear bumper and my muffler was also demolished because he pretty much rode underneath my car.
