This is a place where we try to act insightful. Every trip back is a new chance to act wise beyond our years.
But let's face it, no one truly knows what to do - we can only suggest, hypothesise and ponder as to the hows, whys and whatevers of this world.
As for my "wise" words - they are shit. In the end we are left with friends and family. Friends come in two types: true friends - and friends who take advantage of you. Family is always a constant [until that one person does something so unforgivable that you may have to stop hanging out - but never cutting off contact].
That whole intro is based on my current situation. Recently, I found myself an apartment to live in with a friend I had gotten to know over the last year+. So, we sit town and chat about the whole apartment deal over the month or so before I got back to portland. About 3 weeks before I leave, she tells me that a friend is going to be staying there until I get there. Then a week later, I find out that she is going to have someone else stay there - indefinately - however he would be splitting rent with us, fairly. I contemplate this, and reluctantly agree on the basis that everything should be copesetic.
But really what was happening was this: my roommate had gotten an apartment, and she took on the responsibility of "helping" out a friend who had really fucked himself - and his good friend. One had a prospect of a job, the other I have no clue about - but it seems like nothing.
So, a week before I leave, I'm told the one who was going to be paying rent was not going to be able to pay anything, however the other guy was gone [reason unexplained].
I finally get there - and I really love the apartment. Its very roomy, got place for all my shit, and my bedroom is bigger than I ever have had. So, I'm stoked.
Her friend (AC) is nice and I have no problem, at this point - I'm willing to get along cause I like my surroundings.
Then I find out some truths: Mike (AC's friend) was taken out of the apartment in handcuffs because there was a warrent for his arrest out. AC has no job, and really doesn't have many prospects. And she is basically planning on supporting these two boobs.
Financially, for her - there's no fucking way. But regardless, I'm not having a felon stay under the same roof as me when I don't know this guy. I tell her that he has to go (we had agreed before that he was to be out anyway by the time I got there) - and agreed that he needed to leave. I wanted him out yesturday - she wanted to give him some time - so he has until tomorrow.
Anyway, at this point AC stands up and starts yelling, "If he's leaving, I'm leaving."
This statement made me realize - how stupid he really is. He has - no money, no job, and no car - and because his friend is possibly going to jail and cant stay for free in someone else's apartment - he makes that statement.
Anyway, long story short: I want this one out wednesday morning, and ac out soon after - hopefully by next week. The second they leave I think changing locks may be wise.
Good news is - since I just got here - my name is not on the lease yet, so whatever for now.

I'm back in Portland - I should have my car by Wednesday and I'll be 21 on September 10th.
So, give me a call: 847-877-6233 at any time - I enjoy a good random caller.
