So, yea - I almost died...
I was driving on the highway - it was a little rainy/snow - nothing you'd think you'd have a problem with.
I was on my way home - not too far from my destination; when I happened upon a truck goin wayyyyy under the speed limit.
So - I went to pass it on the left (3 lanes) when I noticed that the left lane was quite icey - so I down shifted and went to hit the breaks to get behind the truck again - when
BAM - skidding - then I started to spin spin spin.
Unfortunately I did not win...
So I tried to turn into the turn, tap the brakes yada yada yada - no use - just spinning.
Then - I stop. No more movement - just still.
So - I pause - take inventory - then make sure I'm okay.
I'm fine - so i get out to see exactly how bad the situation is: I'm in a ditch - with my bumper on a fence - not too bad.
I had to dig my tire out - then tried to drive - but no use. $125 and a tow later - I was out and on my way home.
However - here's the sad part:
Usually when you are in a life or death situation something flashes through your mind - like you realize someone you love or you will think about - you think about how much you have to live for...
I come to realize this: I was ready to die - if not embracing it.
You know how "Jack" (Edward Norton) in Fight Club prays for a plane crash - I sort of felt the same way = embracing my mortallity and the end.
wtf?
