For those that still unaware as to what it is, the following is from the Kickstarter page.
What is 'Bellydance Unbound'?
'Bellydance Unbound' is a performance video featuring the best in dark tribal fusion bellydance. For the first time, the dancers will be removing themselves from the stage or out of the studio and performing original pieces in a variety of locations of the individual dancers choosing. At this time, the video will feature twelve dancers in eleven separate performances.
Why are they doing it?
To allow the dancers to showcase their style of bellydance in a manner that will allow their performances to be more nuanced and emotive than before. The proximity of the camera will allow them to use more minute gestures and expressions that would normally be lost when used during a stage performance. They can dance in an environment that adds to the story or emotion of their piece without worry that a set piece will block them from the view of the audience. They can choreograph a piece without worrying about the edges of a stage or the walls of a studio stopping them from the range or direction of movement they want. The dancers will also have the opportunity to even use the features of their chosen location in their choreography.
Who are the dancers involved in the project?
Currently, the dancers involved in the project are: Ariellah (www.ariellah.com), The Lady Fred (www.theladyfred.com), Jodi Waseca, Isa Shisha, Lisa Hyde, Natalie Nayun, Raven Ebner, Paige Lawrence, Vulgaire, Anesidora, Deidre Anaid and Dusty Paik. There are a few more dancers that are currently considering their participation in this project and will be added to the list when they do.
There is a proof-of-concept video on the Kickstarter as well that gives an idea of what we are trying to do with the filmed performances. If you want, you can also view the video here:
Please, contribute if you can, but also spread the word about the project. The more people that know about it, the better chance we have of making our goal.
You need to identify a target market for the video and figure out how to promote it to them. That being said....I don't have a clue as to how to do that.
