Remember what I said earlier in the week? I need to sort out "Work, lovelife, miscellaneous".

Well I've done the last one: told my annoying flatmate that he has to move out.

And the middle one has sorted itself out: I'm single again just in time for St. Valentines day (no shock really).

So all that's left is getting some gainful employment. Easy.
wuvmonki:
Kicking out annoying roommates rock! I wish I could kick people out of my house. But I don't think my mum would like that too much. *sigh*

Right now I think Jet lag kicks ass.

It's 5 am, and in the past 24 hours I've had 5 hours sleep. 3 hours in the early evening (deep, wonderful sleep) and 2 hours just after midnight (light, dreamy sleep).

I like it.

Maybe I've gone mad?

Today I shall overload on caffeine and try to go without my early evening nap.

Does what you do for a living define you as a person?

I don't ever think it will for me, working will only ever be a way of earning money. Finding a good job to me means finding one that is as palatable as possible.

I can't decide if this makes me a fatalist or that it means I'm well grounded.
wuvmonki:
Well my job definitely says nothing about who I am. I work in a science and business library as a library technical assisstant. I update reference material and work at the information desk. You would think I am some library nerd. Psh... I am dumb ass a door nail. *shrug*

Long haul flights and expensive internet cafes are a chore. But it's nice to be in the position for it to be a chore.

I hope that you're all well.
gabriel33:
Watch out for that pesky DVT!

Apart from that just jealous that you're not stuck in this cold and miserable country...London is so depressing at this time of year it could become a contagious disease! frown
wuvmonki:
You said no updates until Feb! Nice surprise. Hope your vacation is going well so far.

I'm off on holiday (or vacation if you prefer) for a bit, so don't expect any updates until February.

Look after each other and play nicely while I'm away.

Yes, the band were good.

No the best that I've seen them, but friends who where seeing them for the first time where impressed: so they must have been good.

It's now time to breathe deeply and take a step back.

January blues?
Maybe...
I'm certainly not in the best of sorts, but I can't put my finger on why.

I shall pick up by the middle of the week, as I am seeing my current top band.

wuvmonki:
I've got the January blues... or the getting old blues. I don't know yet.

I waited in my friends house today while she went to work. I did this so her cat could get delivered from the cattery where it's been over Christmas.

It was satisfying to see the fluffy beast come blinking out of it's box and slowly realising it was back in familiar surroundings.

Yay!! Glowing green dragonfly!! ooooooo . . . so groovie!! Teehee!

You are kind to house sit for your friend, so the kitty could come home. I'm sure that both of them appreciate it. miao!! smile miao!!

I'm so glad that you have been enjoying The Books. I thought it might be digable in headbones' world.

I'm really trying to take more pics. I mean, damn, I have this sweet $700 digital camera, and I hardly ever use it. tongue

More pictures soon! Wheeeeeeeeee!

*blushes again* and kiss

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope that 2004 brings you all that you wish for.

I've just got back from my friends house, where 5 of us shared drinks and well wishes. It's 2am, and I shall sleep soon.

Well... I'm back at my PC smile
The holidays were relaxing, and nice. A bit dull mind (my folks live out in the sticks).

I'm glad to be back on SG, and can't wait to find out what all my friends have been upto...

Bugger all.

The crush thing is remaining at crush status. She has a boyfriend, and I don't really know if she'd be interested in me 'that way' even if she didn't.

I'm off to my folks for the holidays tonight. I doubt that I'll get my hands on a PC until I get back.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Don't know what to think.

I've just been to the farewell gig of a band I've been seeing for 6 or 7 years.

One of the security guys said "You're a bit old for this aren't you?"

Maybe he's right. 95% of the crowd were at least 10 years yonger than me. Does that mean I should 'grow up'?

Or is it just another case...

matt_organic:
Yeah I've seen them three times - Ozzfest 2001, Manchester Apollo 2001 and Brixton 2002 (the second night). The London gig was pretty good, but nowhere near as great as the one at the Apollo - that blew my mind totally. I was at the front, the setlist was amazing and there was a minimum of assholes. The London gig was a bit marred for me by the huge amount of crowdsurfers and idiots banging into me all the time - it didn't help that a girlfriend I'd broken up with 3 days earlier was there with me and I was attempting to shield her from the worst of it while not getting TOO close. Tricky situation.

Oh undoubtedly it isn't just a London thing, we get crowd wankers up here as well. To be honest I'm incredibly fussy about my gig-going, tending to get irritated by the slightest things. I'm turning into a boring old git who stands in a good viewing position or gets a seated ticket. Damn. Having said that, I was at the front for Therapy? the other week and that was class. I think I'll always prefer smaller gigs to be honest, some of the best I've been to have been local ones watching my friends' bands from the crowd barrier with a few other mates.
