Had a lovely, lazy weekend not doing a damn thing. Well, I wrote some checks and did other financial type stuff. Probably should have done some laundry, but it can wait a few days. It was a good recovery from the previous week.
Tomorrow, I'm going to the return of Thomas Frank at P & P. I should have picked up his What's the Matter with Kansas? when he was starting off his tour, but that was before the election. In view of its outcome, I hope he'll have something interesting to say. I also hope that David Herlihy is on the schedule for January, on account of some sappy Christmas reasons.
The end of Mr. Wolfe's latest is in sight and I expect to get through it this week. After that, I'm going to put Marion Nestle's (yes, one of those Nestles) first book ahead of the others in the queue.
This year, the name of the Precursor vessel will be the HNOI; captained by Louis Wu, naturally. Sooo tempting to name it the Empire of Louis Wu!
