The Hirshorn is a great place to go, and not just for the modern art. The shock on some of the visitors can be awesome!
Lynne Truss is coming to DC next month. Also, so is Tom Wolfe.
Richard Florida had better have fucking lead in his wrists, or something. His book has been delayed again.
Guess I'll read Jeremy Rifkin's latest sooner than I'd planned and maybe follow it up with Timothy Garton Ash's.
Comer's latest is neat; I hope he writes one on middle & high schools, too. He's old, but looked pretty spry. Also, he spoke as if some of his ancestors were still alive (I figure he's about 70 and looked maybe 60 ), so there's a good chance. I guess I wouldn't be heartbroken if he winds up as SecEd and doesn't have time, though.
From my other favorite local bookstore, I notice that David Boies (the fool/may he rot in Hell) is out peddling some damn book of his. Maybe those investigations are encouraging him to seek a second career.
