Another Year in the books! Boy did I have fun at this one! We had a fantastic turnout at our panel. I was pretty darn nervous I won't lie.
This is me and Rachel right before everyone came in to watch our panel. When we got over there I saw a lineup outside of the room and was like holy shit... people showed up! Instantly I was nervous.. fumbling words so I said Rachel... I gotta run to cowboys for a second. Ran into the Casino, to the bar asked for my classic Burt Reynolds and my fears melted away.
I had people asking lots of questions. We had them come to our booth after and say how much they enjoyed the panel. It was a day I will never forget.
And now Arya's day. I had her all day Saturday. I went in to open the booth until the other babes got there and then we were on our way around Expo. Last minute she said to me MOM I want to be the dark side.
Well you lil bugger you are lucky Momma had Kylo in the closet!
Make a Wish had a booth set up where you could donate for photos with the characters. We went back 3 times that day. Arya went nuts over that booth. She is wearing her pikachu hat she made at the kids craft room.
This kid is seriously fearless. So Terror Train had a booth with this huge monster. It was so loud and she kept saying Mama.. what's that noise? I told her zombies I don't think we should go there. She said OH MAMA BUT THEY NEED TO EAT YOUR BRAINS! (Thanks Blake for teaching her that one haha).
So I was like okay lets try this out. We get over there and she kept laughing and saying Mom! Who's that guy? So they said we could take a photo with it. This thing comes out and grabs you while growling and chewing! Truly terrifying but I kept it cool. Arya laughed and said HE'S TRYING TO HUG US!
Everyone standing around laughed and were shocked she wasn't afraid. I got a few dirty looks from parents but to each their own! After that I had to tell her the Zombie Snail on the ground wasn't for sale.
Arya is not shy at all. But low and behold I watched her fan girl this day. She could barely hold it together for Spiderman. He was trying to get her to do the spidey hand but she could barely move. I told him she sleeps with a Spider-man doll every night and he gave her a hug.
Then this HUGE bear was walking around. We saw him when we were having lunch but he was too far away. Then she saw him again and screamed there he his! then he stopped and got to her level and this is the face she made.
So we did a bit of shopping at Expo. Arya got a stuffie then she really wanted a fridge magnet. I looked at these walls covered and I knew instantly I was going for Arya Stark... I named my mini after her so I needed it for my collection.
Arya grabbed Jon. I thought for sure she was gonna go for Spider-man or Batman because that's her obsessions right now. NOPE Jon Snow. She even told me "Mama this is Jon Snow! He is Aunty Seleena's BF". I laughed so hard I am crying and Arya is yelling at Seleena (The Hazz Mat Booth was across from us) but she couldn't hear so I said run over and show her. We all laughed so hard at this.
She also would tell random strangers every time she saw a Stark Sigil that was "My House". People would be like WTF? So I was like I named my daughter Arya Winter... she's from House Stark hahaha.
I really can't wait for the day we do a mother/daughter holiday to SDCC. When she's older its on my bucket list. But for now it's gonna be Calgary and Edmonton Expo.
