I feel so much better and grounded after spending my weekend outside. It was truly beautiful this weekend so I took the dogs to fish creek park.
That's my little pack!!! Paris, Tinkerbell and Roman. We did almost 3k on Sunday! I was so proud they kept up! Roman and Paris were scaling the fallen over trees like champs! One lady even came up to tell us we should put Paris in Agility because she was impressive! I told her oh man shes a senior dog! She turns the big 11 in a couple of weeks!!!
I had so much fun with the family. It was so nice and warm!!! I did however run into a prick of a biker. So Roman was a street dog in LA. He was caught, on Doggy Death Row and then Furever Home Rescue went down to adopt him and several dogs set to die. When I got his paperwork I read "Does not do well on leash". It made me tear up thinking about his little life on the streets.
First time I put him in a harness he did really well until I snapped the leash on the back. He was like a fish jumping out water caught on a line. I spent weeks with him walking around our back yard and he was still struggling. So my next approach was letting him watch his idol Paris walk with a harness and leash. He followed her around the yard and looked at me like okay Momma... this isn't as bad as I thought! So another go with the leash.
We got him out to the park and he did great! The second we hit concrete stopped and freaked out again. So another couple of weeks of walking him with the other two and he realized it was not scary at all but fun!
So Roman still does the bumble bee on a string technique. He flies back and forth tangling the leashes which brings me to a jerk I dealt with at the park.
So I pull off the bike path to the grass and sit down to untangle them. I take Tinkerbells leash off for two seconds while shes on my lap to untangle them. A biker rides by then stops to yell at me that the park is "ON LEASH ONLY! Ugh this is why they should only be in dog designated parks!". I never even had time to fire back that the poor dogs were tangled and how was in harms way when I am way off the path in the grass? So when I was looping back to my car at the end of my trek he was there again ringing his bell yelling at me to get off the bike path. I snapped back at him told him he was a miserable asshole and we had every right to be in fish creek as he did.
So this shot above I call it "Tinker's Call to the Wild" She made the best derp face when I snapped the photo. That is my Husband in the shot with our 3 furbabies. I seriously snort laughed so hard yesterday when we got home and I took a peek at the shots I took at the park.
He just idolizes his sister so much! Roman walks right next to her all the time. In our yard he follows her every step. When Paris gets the neighbourhood dogs going with bark wars Roman runs in front of her and puffs his chest to let everyone know hes protecting his Alpha. It is seriously so freaking cute!
This was seriously two mins after we took off from the park. Roman was wiped! So glad he goes for grooming this week! Those nails are like razors!
I love this shot of Paris. She was the only one who never crashed on the drive back! I took this of her and it looks like she is smiling. My chihuahua is old but young at heart.
This weekend I get my floors done! its home renovations after the shit show that went down. Ill take photos of the rooms after they are finished.
Edmonton shoot weekend is coming up fast! June 6th I am there to shoot some SG Sets for the site, some horror for my collection and then one big party set as an ODE to the Crue who are retiring after this year.
