So this weekend I went to a chihuahua adopt-a-thon in my city. I have two chihuahuas and have been wanting a 3rd. There was over 20 dogs at the adoption but this little guy stole my heart.
His name was Captain but I changed it to Roman. I named him after my favourite character on Hemlock Grove. Roman is full of personality. I took Paris with me to the adoption so she as the alpha could help me pick another for our pack.
She was not found of the baby puppies. But then we saw Roman jumping in his pen. He was jumping to checkout all the dogs. I walked over to him and noticed he had a skull sweater on! Skulls are my fav thing! then he saw Paris, he was so excited he was trying to kiss her through the fencing. She sniffed him and wagged her tail so I knew we picked the right one.
We got to take Roman home with us. Tinkerbell is still a wee bit afraid of him. He is only 8 months old so hes still in that hyper puppy stage. Paris is 12 in June, Tinkerbell is 6 years old so now I have 3 of them all over the age map.
I gave them all treats and then Paris of course hoovers hers down and then snagged his. I waited until after this then gave him another treat for being a good boy but made sure Paris wasn't watching.
Roman knows how to jump. I was teaching him some tricks yesterday but he gets jump the best. Sitting he doesn't fully sit down and when I tried shake a paw he was too excited. Really made me laugh.
He loves to give kisses. Like this morning my alarm went off so I leaned over to shut it off and turned around to a billion kisses on my face.
It killed me to know that he came from LA. Roman was on death row. He wasn't getting adopted and was going to be euthanized so Fur-Ever Homes picked him up and a few others on death row to give them a 2nd chance.
If you ever get the chance to save a life I ask that you do. Roman has brought me so much joy.
Here above was Roman's first photo. I've never seen a puppy get so excited over me. The foster mommy was telling me shes never seen him get so excited for a person so it was a good pick.
Today we are doing more training. I can't wait until its nice enough to hangout in my yard with the dogs or take them to the Dog Park for fun.
Well back to the grind!
