I just got back from watching Captain America: Civil War. This was another outstanding MCU film in a long line of successful undertakings by Marvel. I got to say, though, I'm kind of disappointed. No, not with the film itself, but with the status quo amongst the superhero films. DC isn't pulling it's weight. I had always been a fan of Batman and Superman, but the recent movies that DC has been putting out have been lackluster efforts. Yes, I know they're trying to play catch-up with what Marvel has created, the problem is is that it shows they're playing catch-up. DC's efforts feel forced while everything that I've seen from Marvel has flowed in an extremely entertaining, and fun, manner. The only things that I'm enjoying from DC right now are their animated movies, ie Batman: Bad Blood and Justice League vs Teen Titans, and the Arrow-verse TV shows.
I don't know, maybe the MCU set the bar too high for DC to meet or maybe my expectations were just unobtainable. In any event, I'm not likely to support DC's works but Marvel has definitely won me over.
