I can't believe summer is officially over, so sad. Not that I'm all that crazy about all that hot weather, but it just seems that everything is more relaxed in the summer, mainly no meetings at work because too many people are on vacations. When I took the dog out today I saw all the kids with their backpacks, and I almost wished that was me going to the first day back to school after 2 months off, instead of having to go back to work in an hour after 2 days off. I remember days and weeks would go by so slow when I was a kid, now it's like holy fuck, 3 more months till Christmas again. Then I envy my mom who's now retired, but she did slave her ass off at the same job for over 30 years. How do people get past years of this middle part? Maybe I just need to find something to do that won't make me dread the weeks to come. Anyway, enough hating life bullshit...
...When I come home from work everyday, I listen to the oldies station and sing along at the top of my lungs, and that usually makes me feel a lot better about the day that has just passed. Nothing like a little motown Stevie Wonder to make a girl feel better. So the other night when I was on my way home I heard the best song ever. I had to come home to download it asap. It's from 1972, and it's called Brand New Key by Melanie. I've listened to it at least 25 times over the past 2 days. Funny how 2 minutes can change a persons mood.
Well I'm off to get ready for work, it's always the hardest to go back after a couple days off especially when I know I'm gonna have tons of shit to do because the place is a disaster after a flood last week. We had 2 feet of water on our roof that drained into our air unit and when I came into work it was literally pouring from the ceiling, and then it caved in, and mushed into the carpet. It was lovely, thanks Katrina, ye cunt...
