Carmina Burana, by Orff. A very odd piece of music. It sounds Satanic, and indeed, has been used in movies as such. It is usually thought to be the theme for 'The Omen', but no, that is Jerry Goldsmith's Academy Award™ nominated(!) 'Ave Satani'. Carmina Burana, which is thematically about Rabelaisian excess, pissed up monks and nuns, is used, at the end of John Boorman's great movie, 'Excalibur', as the remnants of Arthur's knights ride out of Camelot, through the cherry blossom, to fight one last battle, from which only a few will return. Never fails to make me blub like a child. Every bastard time, without fail. And don't get me started on Gawain throwing Excalibur into the lake... English folk lore is a very powerful thing, especially when instilled at an early age. Four, in my case. Glad you enjoyed the concert.👍😉
