When my father was dieing we had a chance to talk about some stuff. Not sure why things went bad , they usually did with him He said I really wish you had never been born. There are not alot of ways you can take that but just for the one way.
I left his hospital room , went home and told my son , who was 4 at the time that I loved him and I was very pround of him.
It's been 6 years since my father died and my son and now daughter hear the same thing every night, I love you and I'm very proud of you in all that you do.
The point to this....Don't let an asshole ruin you. Be a better whatever it is you want. I became a better father.

This is a lovely little blog. I would say I can't believe your father said that to you but, as you point out, he was an asshole. Like you say, these sorts of experiences can make you so much better for you and others around you. My mum had a really tough childhood and she's the loveliest, strongest person ☺ You just have to direct your own life in the right way ❤ X
