Ahhhh I couldnt quite bring myself to use this as a rag. As it says in the band's history on their tragically aesthetically-appalling website:
DRN then started to tour around the UK playing all the rock clubs including the now defunct London Marquee Club, which saw them hold the all time record for appearances at this legendary venue.
Dumpy Dunnell, the bands Santa Claus-bearded central figure won much respect at that club not half due to his habit of wandering into the bar for a pre-gig pint with his fans.
From about 1987 to around the late-90's, I visited The Marquee Club at least twice a week! It's botched re-location in 2002 finally closed the doors on the legend. *sigh* Such memories!!!
