Love Song
The Damned. Album: Machine Gun Etiquette(1979)
I'll be the ticket if you're my collector
I've charge the fare if you're my inspector
I'll be the luggage if you'll be the porter
I'll be the parcel if you'll be my sorter
Just for you here's a love song
Just for you here's a love song
And it makes me glad to say
It's been a lovely day
And it's okay
I'll be the mail you'll be the guard
I'll be the ink on your season ticket card
I'll be the rubbish you'll be the bin
I'll be the paint on the sign if you'll be the tin
Just for you here's a love song
Just for you here's a love song
And it makes me glad to say
It's been a lovely day
And it's okay

If I had to pick a favourite The Damned album from their discograpy, Machine Gun Etiquette would be it: with the title track, Melody Lee, Plan 9 Channel 7 and Smash it Up in its listing could I possibly choose another?
A discussion of The Damneds current state opened my SG blog (err journal) so Ill not rehash it, but you can click here to read that entry. I can sometimes be very hard on The Damned with their continued career. I can assure you that it is mostly just a case of being very protective of something you cherish greatly. I long-since discovered that I cannot go a day with my The Damned fix indeed, for most of my teen years, while all the other kids wanted to look like Adam Ant, it was the rakish Mr. David Vanian that was my role-model
*sigh* I feel a distinct need to go purchase a new shirt for this week!!!
