Hello Everyone,
I figured I’d do an introduction, I used to be active on here for several years under the username @taiava . My account wouldn’t let me back in and my life became quite busy, so I stayed away for the last two- three years. At last I really missed the community and stunning girls and decided to return. I also decided that it was time for a more suiting username.
I am an artist and fine arts major, I will finish my associates in fine arts next May and will earn a technical certificate in entrepreneurship as well. I have been working for my school’s art department the last two years and I have a variety of responsibilities from teacher assistant, gallery assistant, studio assistant, and college mentor for the high school art camp in the summer.
Earlier this year our art department was commissioned to create a permanent art installation. There was one week were our students were required to attend “art camp” instead of their normal art studio classes. It was during this week that we collectively worked on the canvases for the commission. At the end of the week there was still lots to do so, my boss, a fellow student, and myself worked around the clock for two months to finish the installment. It was a very therapeutic and rewarding experience. The 50 large canvases we created are now hung in a hallway that is a part of a local hospitals cancer wing.
Unfortunately, most of my job is now is hosting open studio times for the students to come in and work, as well as opening and overseeing the gallery. It is very rare that people come into the studios or the gallery and I have been going rather stir crazy as of late from the lack of physical activity and no mental stimulation from my job. Thus, I am trying to figure out what job I should move onto next, while also trying to get ready for my “exit show” in the spring.
I have continued working as an actor and makeup artist at the same haunted house that I have worked for over the past 7 years. When all else fails the month and a half of physical activity at the haunt really helps with stress.
I went on a road trip with my fiancé last year to Minneapolis to see my favorite artist / director’s traveling exhibit, Guillermo del Toro’s At Home with Monsters. It was incredible to see in person some of the one of a kind works of art he has collected, images of the journals he keeps to write and draw his ideas in, as well as movie memorabilia. I was probably most excited to be up close in personal with some of the amazing items created for the Hellboy movies.
We went through a lot of drama, first with the apartment we were living in being sold, and then the rental we moved into following the apartments went up for sale as well. However, we came out on top and purchased a house this summer! We’ve been doing a lot of renovations, some as repairs, and some to simply make it our own. We have an acre of land and a garage that is even bigger than the first apartment we lived in. Once organized the garage will double as a work area for us and band practice spot for him. Our second bedroom has been turned into an office and recording room. We have a family room as well as a living room. So, the living room is a work in progress that will become my art studio.
I've gotten engaged, lost a beloved cat to mouth cancer, unsurprisingly lost a sibling to drunk driving, collected two more tattoos and we have taken in three more cats including this massive beast and his twin brother.
All of our four cats were born to strays and came to us under different sets of circumstances which just breaks my heart. Fix your pets folks!
