This is a great topic to write about. Something to learn about my music taste! I have a huge library of what I love to listen to from oldies (and i mean like billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, ABBA, Prince, etc.) to black metal, grind core, hardcore, pop, hip hop, etc. So with that being said, here are my top 5 songs I could listen to over and over again. They will probably be more of the same genre but then again, i usually listen to one genre more than most (2000s emo was lit and still is with me).
1. brand new: soco amaretto lime. just recently this song has brought a lot of meaning because of my close friends that i attend a little shin dig with every month. if we stay to the very end of said shin dig, they always play this song last and we just gather around and just sing together. even when we are apart and just doing our separate everyday life things, we always manage to let one another know we are listening to the song. brand new as a whole is huge with us.
2. deftones: change (in the house of flies). im a huge fan of deftones. this is one of many favorites from their works of music talent. this song always gets me feeling some type of way if you know what i mean š but either way, its a song that i can never get sick of and just listen to non stop when i feel up to listening.
3. lady gaga: bad romance. don't get me wrong, i loved the songs in gaga's first album, "the fame" but i can never forget my love for bad romance as a musical medium and for the video. im a HUGE gaga fan and i love what she represents and tries to instill in a society where criticism is so vast in the media and within ourselves. i listen to the new album "artpop" a lot more than her older stuff but i will never get sick of this tune.
4. my chemical romance: im not okay (i promise). yes i love my chemical romance. i love them as a whole. and i was one of those fans who cried when they announced their disbandment. it was hard on me. "three cheers for sweet revenge" is one of my favorite my chem albums and the first one i bought because thats the first time i actually got to listen to them before finding out they had another album before "three cheers". this is another my friends and i sing together with and bonded us together (with brand new of course). we even have my chem rubber bracelets with lyrics on them that i got from work so we know that we are forever bonded. when my chem comes back (if they ever do), you best believe ill be there crying at the news hoping for a tour.
5. panic! at the disco: build god, then we'll talk. this one i believe never gets any love. "a fever you can't sweat out" was the first panic! album i ever bought and my favorite of them all. and it was the moment i realized at 15, how in love i was with brendon urie. i still am in love with him like you wouldn't believe. anyways, i just like the video, the story details, the way the song hold up and a perfect sound to the end of this album. the album as a whole is amazing but with this song as its final in the album, it ties in so well. i will always love panic! even if its just brendon now and missing the original members but the memories i have listening to every album and growing up with them is what matter most to me. just like brand new and my chem.
if anything, i can always do more of these top 5 songs i love to listen to except continue on from where i left off (so number 6 in this case) if you all liked reading this so you can at least read more of my music taste. i mean its something to talk about right?
til next time!
