I just watched the John Waters movie, "Cry Baby," on TV.
I forgot how much I loved that movie.
These are the reasons why I love that movie:
1) I love the 50's. Sometimes, I feel it is a cosmic injustice that I was not teenager in that time, becuase I would have been an awesome greaser kid.
"You don't unnserstand! Lighting makes me in-sane.
2) I love the female lead. I don't develop crushes in movie characters, but in the beginning when she says "I am so tired of being good," I fell. Hard. Little did I know that the good girl gone bad would be my lifelong taste in women.
3)The music is awesome. The more I listen to doo-wop and original rock n' roll, the more I realize that Buddy Holly, Smokey Robinson, and all those musicians were really kicking ass in a way that had never been heard before. My parents were just kids back then. I love hearing my mom talking about coming home with records and listening to them non-stop.
Sigh. Back in the day.
I like how Outkast is making a idealized black mythology of that time period with the last two videos from "The Love Below."

(laughter) Indeed, and some days it makes me feel freaking ancient! I decided a very long time ago, that when I did the biography of my life and it was hitting the book stores, that I did not want the Barnes and Noble's stock clerk to know what section to put it under. Romance? Comedy? Fantasy? True Crime? Travel? That was my goal in life. I think I'm doing pretty well with it. ![wink](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/wink.6a5555b139e7.gif)
