A little background:
Sometimes, I do work for "The Party Crew." (Admission of guilt with some stifled laughing)
"The Party Crew" is a company that provides event staff. Pretty much all the guys are working on their modeling careers, or trying to be actors. So they are good looking. But, Good Lord, some of them are dumb as posts. Honestly.
Anyway, we were working this Match.com event, which was a nice change from all the gay events we do. This thing was held at the Diane Von Furstenberg showroom/store. Impressive.
I think they kind of missed the point though, becuase all these fashionista women, gorgeous and well dressed, showed up becuase they were somehow associated with D v B. The match.com-ers and the trend-setters mingled together like oil and water.
The whole point of these internet dating things is so people who have trouble meeting people, or who are lookng to meet people just like them, finally have a way of getting together. Right? So having a party full of intimidatingly hot women helps no one. I felt bad for all the people sitting alone. Nothing breaks my heart more than someone who feels alone.
I once learned a lesson in the most unlikliest of places.
I wasted some of my like in Newport, Rhode Island a few years ago. One good thing about that God-forsaken town was it had the most bad-ass, yet funniest, gym to which I have ever been.
The name, I kind you not: Gym Vicious.
These dudes who owned this place were hardcore. Like, really fucking hardcore. Those guys that don't look human kind of lifters. They had a fucking cow skull glued to one of the squat racks. It was cool though, becuase you could put in any music you wanted, and they had an outstanding selection of bone-rattling punk and metal. One of the five rules on the whiteboard, "Sometimes, the music hear may be loud and raucous. If this upsets your easy listening sensibilities, we suggest you lift elsewhere or buy a set of quality headphones."
I told you. Bad-ass.
Anyway, they had a huge collection of lifting mags, and one of them, "Testoserone," was actually well written.
An article in there was an interview with some famous trainers who had gone beyond merely weight training, and had become mentors. These guys were around 50-60 years old, and they said some brilliant and wise things.
One of them was:
If you feel like there is an absence in your life, it is probably due to the fact that you are not providing that thing you are missing.
If you feel like you're not getting enought respect, your probably not giving enough respect. If you feel like your not getting enough love, your proably not giving enough love.
Certain times in life, you read or hear things that sum up what you thought were complicated ideas so easily, you are astounded. Most likely, you thought they were complicated becuase they were about you.
I loved that commnt becuase that's how I feel. When I start to get down, I wish I had someone tocare about, because I know it would make me feel better.
Makes me wonder why I haven't tried to have a serious girlfriend in a long time.
Maybe that's why I'm down. Or maybe becuase IT'S FUCKING FREEZING HERE!
So, always be open minded. ou may learn something when you least expect it. Maybe one of those lifters will head to a psychiatrist only to learn he's been bencing with incorrect tenchnique his whole life.
"So THAT'S why I'm not getting fully rounded pecs."

***Very inspirational.....***
Thank you!
The dating thing I signed up with is on nerve.com, I haven't really gone anywhere with that. It was just for fun, I am not really interested in anything right now. I believe more in fate and finding the right person by chance and not by actively pursueing it.
The phone call thing, I haven't called him. I was being the sucky one. I finally called him though, we went out yesterday and we are gonna' meet for drinks tomorrow night. We are just dating, nothin' serious.
