So it's been nearly a month and here's how complete Vertical's Vegas Checklist is so far:
1.) A job
Sorta check. I'm pretty sure I got one. They were supposed to tell me today, but said they wouldn't be able to confirm until tomorrow.
2.) Decent comic shops.
Sorta check. Like I said in a previous entry, I found a few semi-good ones. But no single shop has everything I need. So I go to four different places, two of which are across town. I'm considering just using midtowncomics.com and their subscription service. They've done right by me in the past. But having an actual shop to go to would be a lot nicer.
3.) Friends.
Nope. Still a loser.
4.) Used books stores.
I've found several, just haven't gone in any of them. But there's seven Barnes and Nobles' and Borders' within a twenty mile radius of my house. So that's cool.
5.) Highway to nowhere and a full tank of gas.
Check. I have four highways. And it usually only takes twenty minutes to get out of town. And then I've got hours of driving nowhere to enjoy.
Gas, though, is going to be a problem. It's over two dollars a gallon now.
In other news, I've been hearing that Refreshments song "Banditos" being referenced lately. One of my friends was listening to it when I talked to him on the phone. This was two days after I put the lyrics in a throwaway entry here. The second time happened last week. Someone standing next to me in Fry's brought it up in a conversation I shouldn't have been listening to. Then on Saturday I was at the Star Trek Experience restaurant and a couple people just started singing it.
It's kind of weird. I haven't heard the song in years. Then, out of nowhere, I get the urge to listen to it. Then within a week of that it's brought up on three different occassions.
Although, it's not as weird as me wearing a Star Trek shirt in an IHOP and then getting lectured by a random stranger about how Trekkies have the same fanaticism that Christians do. And because of that one similarity, Trekkies should apparently be considered a religion.

Embrace it. It might get you laid!
P.S. Spock died in that reactor core for all of our sins . "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one" .
If THAT isn't scripture material , I don't know WHAT is .
Plus , when you are moved by the holy spirit you can scream KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
