So Squishy's entry reminded me of a poem i came across several months ago, which seems appropriate to this time of year.
Explosions In The Sky
They called us at the very last.
Those bastards, they knew we had no chance to respond.
Words like tiny explosions in the sky.
It seemed they should have meant something.
Desperately, they flared up, lingered for a moment, then wavered, disappearing easily in the summer haze.
Also, a tribute to Mr. Josh Ritter, as it is the 5th of July:
It's a long way to heaven -
It's closer to Harrisburg, but
That's still a long way from the place where we are;
And if evil exists, it's a pair of train tracks,
And the devil is a railroad car.
FINALLY, i must say that i am extremely. happy tonight. More on that later.
