When the penalty for aborting after rape is more severe than the penalty for rape, that’s when you know it’s a war on women. I’m not allowed to get an abortion because I didn’t realize I was pregnant until 6 weeks. I’m not allowed to get my tubes tied to prevent more pregnancies, because once again it has to be someone else’s rules what I can do with my body. Cut funding to planned parenthood so now I can no longer get the cheap birth control to prevent a pregnancy (not all insurances cover birth control.) Cut funding to CHIP, WIC, and food assistance making it harder for single mothers to take care of their children they were forced to have. I think I got it. Government can’t tell you what guns you can own because that would be violating your rights as an American citizen. But it’s totally okay for them to tell you what you can and can’t do with my own body, because my rights aren’t being violated? Or because my rights as a woman aren’t as important?
If you haven’t watched handmaid’s tale, do it. That’s where we are headed.
