I just got in from New Year's in downtown Fredonia and I have never appreciated BJ's New Year's Eve Eve more than this. Under the old (possibly original) owners the bar would have their New Year's Eve party a day early and then be closed for two weeks while the owners took a vacation. The logic behind this was to reward the regulars with a party free from the amateurs that dominate the New Year holiday. The BJ's party is always on December 30 and in keeping with the tradition they were closed tonight and I think for the next couple of days at least. I checked out the other bars in Fredonia and it was nothing but suckiness, minus the handful of people that I'm friends with who were out. They're all cool, but the rest sucked. Amateurs stumbling around. I was home earlier and drank less than a normal Sunday. I don't know if that is something to be proud of, but that's what I observed. This still is one of my favorite holidays. I had a good Friday night and then New Year's Eve Eve was great with all the BJ's regulars. Ah, the advantages of localism.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year.

I've flown a lot in my life and this is the first time I've had a flight cancelled. Due to it being a clearance-priced ticket I was told a refund wasn't possible due to the internet site's rules. I had to call the airline directly to get a rebooking and talk with a supervisor before anything could be done.
