I work at a bank...so the answer may seem a little obvious but can someone please tell me why when a customer wants you to cash a check for them and they have never seen you before and you have never seen them do they assume that you dont need to see their ID. I dont know about you but that concerns me that there might be people out there cashing checks that don't belong to them. Someone can walk into a bank and complain and complain about how they have an account there and thier checks will get cashed because the teller doesnt want to offend them. I dont care who you are or if you have had an account here since 1956, your not getting your checks cashed unless you show me some id. And most of the time it is old people who do this. If I were them I'd thank the teller for doin his or her job, because who knows who coukd steal their money, hell their grandkid could have stole their check book and cash checks left and right.
