When I grow up I want to be a mermaid.
Apparently they have cold hearts so can't do the whole 'love' thing. They just do desire and lust. I could live like that quite happily.
One of my friends has just announced that she's pregnant after getting married five weeks ago. Very excited and happy and everything, but I am a cynic when it comes to 'happy ever after'. I don't think such a thing exists. I don't want to sound bitter or twisted, but I just don't think humans are meant to have just the one partner for a lifetime anymore. Perhaps it worked out years ago when the average age of death was 35, but not now.
It is an ideal, to think that you'll find someone and fall in love and be happy till death do you part and for the few people to claim that they've had that I am very happy. I look at paired swans and think it is very romantic that they will stay together always. However, I think that's a very rare thing in humans.
I've tried explaining the way I feel to the boy before but he seems to think he might be the one to change my mind and we'll have children and it will all be perfect. I have been married before, don't want to go there again. Don't relish the thought of having children.... where do I buy the magic mermaid juice?

i dont think one can be happy together all the time but you have to work on the relationship as far as possible to make it work
i would like to think there is a perfect person for everyone out there
but if its ment to be then so be it if not then just live on
