Thanks to randomly watching youtube, I stumbled upon a channel I used to watch all the time, an episode of Cult of Dusty reminded me of my reasons for wanting to lose weight. When the my wife and I decided to have a child I want to be there for the kid as a role model for as long as I can, and being a heavy guy isn't the best way to do my part to make sure that happens. I have been meaning to do something about my weight for a while, tried Rush Fit and P90x with friends but neither kept me motivated or pushing hard (didn't help that my friends weren't motivated into trying that hard anyways) so I lost a few pounds of fat and gained some muscle, but after about 10 pounds it plateaued with no change over 4 months of working at it. Then the cold hit so the motivation to get outside or to the gym went out the window, this was followed by the release of the PS4 and coming home everyday to just play on it for a few hours instead of doing some form of work out for an hour or so then playing or spending time with the wife. I know this just seems like a typical New Years I'm gonna do this story but I have already started a path to change, at work we have been eating salads for lunch rather than box meals or buying junk food, our trips to fast food restaurants has also decreased and I plan on keeping this trend up. The one good thing I have noticed is during the work outs I went down a notch in the belt, and since October of almost no working out and just adjusting my eating habits I almost need to go down another notch.
For anyone who may find and read this I plan on keeping you updated with pictures and reports of how I feel and how well I may be loosing weight or gaining muscle.
