Hello SuicideGirls!! I feel like I've been negligent with you as of late, and I'm sorry. But I've been up to my neck with work and school recently, and I couldn't be happier! I've worked on three short films recently, and I'll be working on another one in the coming weeks. We're just in our pre-production stage right now.
This is just one of the short films I worked on. I did art department and was an extra. Can you spot me?
I'm very proud of how it turned out! Building a bar in what was actually meant to be a bedroom was challenging, but fun!
This is another short film which I did assistant production design and sound editing for.
I did a period piece recently, which was a blast to work on. I'm particularly proud of how this one looks, because I also did double duty on hair and makeup. People kept telling me our actress looked like she had just walked off the set of Mad Men.
This shoot also doubled as my first 6AM crew call.
I'm going to be aiming to get a summer job in the film industry here. My goal is to be a production designer - basically, the person who is in charge of how the film will look - so I'd love to get even an internship at a prop house. I can also work sound like a baus, but doing arty things is so much more fun! I would LOVE to one day have the opportunity to work on a big budget fantasy or sci fi (a la Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.) You could just play around with so much. I watch a film now and all I can pay attention to is how intricate and lived in a world is; costumes, sets, makeup, etc.
The professor at my school who is a production designer worked on The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Lookout, City of Ghosts, among others.
By the way, who else is totally stoked that Spliff has finally gone pink??? Love her so much! I'm still waiting now for Kurosune and Alyeska to join the ranks.

Before I leave, hopefully not for three months though, I will say that now that I own a comically oversized hood cloak thing, and a bitchin pair of boots, that I know exactly what will be coming off in my next set ....
Hugs and kisses!
