So, I've officially been a non-smoker (ex-smoker) for 125.5 hours now.... Cold turkey....... From a pack and a half a day to not a single smoke....
I'm very proud of myself, but it's been a horrible rough week. I know "they" say nicotine is out of your system in 72 hours, but to be honest, they are full of shit, whoever they are. Withdrawl sucks my balls, in a bad way... I am really looking forward to when I stop feeling like I've been hit by a train.
My buddy Mike quit with me too, so it's been awesome to have that support. We decided the best way to quit was to quit on a Friday, head out to the mountains, and camp all weekend... away from civilization (people to snap at) and easy access to cigarettes. We went down to the Crags, and had a pretty incredible weekend. Even with no nicotine, we didn't try to kill eachother at all, lol... Aside from Saturday night, where we both sat huddled up in the tent, shaking back and forth and whining to ourselves, feeling like death, it was a great trip... Lots of jack daniels, hiking, campfire hotdogs, and guitar playing.. Pretty successful, I'd say.
And then Monday rolled around, and it was back to Mines.... You know we don't get holidays off at Mines, right? Heh, Mines is a lifestyle....
This semester is going very good for me so far... I've finally got this college thing down! It turns out that when I actually go to class and read the textbook, I do really well... It's crazy that I've already become completely bogged down with school work this early into the semester, but I really can't complaing... I'm really enjoying my classes so far... I'm actually enjoying Ochem too, although that may change a bit after I put in all the study time I need to before my exam on Tuesday... (Wish me luck!)
This Sunday, I'm participating in the Colorado AIDS Walk.. If anyone is interested in sponsoring me, I would really appreciate it... Every little bit helps! :-) I'm only $50 away from my initial fund raising goal, but I'd love to be able to raise my goal a little. Anyhow, my donation page link is
http://AIDSWalkandRunColorado.kintera.org/joelle
if you'd like to check it out..
I'm hoping to make it to trivia not this tuesday, but the following tuesday... I will come out to some SGCO events as soon as I get on top of studying!
