Still sick, been coughing since mid January. I suspect the violent coughing I did at the high of my whooping cough affliction did something to my throat. I can't sing like I used to. If I yell or even talk loud for a short while, I'll start coughing again. Laughing also makes me choke. So basically this thing has made an already fairly stoic person into seeming even more emotionless.
I'll have to communicate the way I feel with the tools I have left, sarcasm and witty t-shirts
So I talked to my ex-girlfriend yesterday, I really wish she'd forget my phone number. We broke up about 4 years ago and she still calls me out of the blue every once and a while. Its been happening more frequently these past few months. I'm just waiting to wake up one night with her staring through the window while wearing the skin of my cat on her head or something equally crazy. I won't go into the details of why we ended up breaking up, lets just say that I seriously think she's bipolar and needs to be put on medication.
Anyway she calls up and does something which is a pet peeve of mine, has absolutely nothing to say. Really I'm not much of a phone talker, if you want to just chat about whatever lets meet up somewhere and chat. Blabbering about nothing on the phone is a good way to get me to completely tune you out and pay attention to something more interesting, like the fuzz on the bottom of my socks.
I ended up unpausing Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, a fantastic movie I might (and do) add. I remember bits and pieces of what she said. I know at one point she was talking about something I said in an e-mail back in '99. I'm just waiting for the day she moves to California like she keeps on saying she's going to do.
Now to change subjects...I bought Skindred's CD yesterday and can't stop listening to it. It's like reggea/metal, great stuff. I bet they're crazy live. Also picked up Shadows Fall's new disc and Cradle of Filth's new one. Both are great and on rotation in my car's player.
Got a Shadows Fall zip-up hoodie too. Cool zip-up hoodies are hard to find, you can find plenty of pullover ones, but cool zip-up ones are rare. I ordered a zip-up Battle Royal from punkstuff.com and they screwed up and sent me a pullover instead. I still wore it to the Chicago Danzig show. It would have been nice to unzip it during the show, but it still looks cool
. Oh well, I have a zip-up now. It'll go great this spring with my kaki slacks and dress shirts I wear to work.
Hey look at that, its 3 in the morning, I wasn't planning on any kind of update today, but my account ran out and I was in a panic for a second. I don't visit much and I think my comment total barely broke 100, but once I couldn't access the members areas it felt like I lost something important. I'm an old skool member from way back I can't let my mebership just fade away like that.
