Hey, guess who is on vacation until the 10th of January
Soooo much time off I'm not going to know what to do with myself by Monday. Guess its as good a time as any to spend those Christmas gift cards.
I need an art tablet for my computer. I have all these pictures floating in my head and only a sharpy marker and a notpad to bring them out. It'd also be a good way for me to scratch out a tattoo design while messing around on the computer. I have a vague idea of what I want but nothing concrete yet. The artist is all picked out, he works right in my home town and does great B&W work. It'll be on my upper left arm, something concealable since I have to put up the mask of mild mannered librarian while at work
.
If anyone noticed at work I can always use my Vegas trip as an excuse. Yeah I'm going to Vegas with a bunch of friends from Canada in May or June, somewhere around there. It'll be a bunch of computer dorks partying in Vegas.
Tonight I was invited over to this guys house who I work with who's big into punk music, old misfits especially. Anyway, he has this big studio setup thing in his basement and they were practicing some songs he wrote when they asked me so sing on some.
Now a little background on my singing. I used to be in a crappy garage band in college, we never did anything, but it was fun to hang out. I sound most like the singer for system of the down, I can change to the more whiny Alice in Chains singing without much strain, but sotd is what I normally sound like. I mentioned I was in a band to him in one of our many talks about most pop music being the spawn of evil a while back and he invited me over.
I can't even describe how much fun it was, there is nothing more stress relieving then yelling in a hardcore punk band. Once you get into it, its like a floodgate of agression opens up. After it was all done I had a big smile on my face like I had used up all my bad feelings and released them into the air. They all seemed to dig it, so, you never know, I might be in a band again.
So, umm, er, I think I talked myself out.
No wait, I got something, New Years! I need to make mention of New Years. This year I'm doing something I've never done before on New Years, absolutely nothing. No girlfriend, no friends near so no parties, I've never been good at just going up and making small talk with people so going out by myself gives me that "lonely in a crowd" feeling. I'm thinking movie marathon and drinking night, zombies or troma films are the theme for the evening
.
k, I'm done for now, talk to you soon, or in a few months, whenever I get the whim to ramble. See ya space cowboys.
