I'm here again to update you all on my exciting life, because I know everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for me to tell them what happened over the weekend. Or for me to make fun of someone at work or whatever.
Heh, actually I do have someone to make fun of. Its minor but it made me giggle. Yesterday was staff appreciation day over at the library and to show their appreciation they had The Patio come over with pounds of bbq pork, mostacholi, and roasted veggies. All of it was quite tasty. So there I am reading my book at the break table and waiting for my bbq pork sandwich to cool off. Judy is sitting next to me talking away with some other people. Once they all start filtering out, its just me and Judy left in the room. She turns to me, my sandwich untouched and in clear view in the middle of my plate, and she asks if my sandwich is good. I kinda ignored her because I was reading and I figured she'd look down at my food and realize I hadn't started eating yet. Nope, she sat there obviously wanting to chat and was eagerly awaiting my answer. I told her I assume it'll be good once I start to actually eat it. She seemed satisfied by that answer and started complaining about patrons like she normally does. My sarcasm was completely lost on her, I wonder if she even realized what a dumb question that was. I noticed when other people walked in she'd ask them how the food was too, eventhough it was the same stuff I was eating. It must be one of her automatic greetings when in the break room. Kinda like how people will ask how you're doing when they greet you, but then walk off without waiting for an answer.
I'm getting sidetracked here. I came to talk about my weekend, not Judy. Just like opening weekend for V is for Vendetta, I was planning on seeing Slither this weekend. And Just like opening weekend for V is for Vendetta, I ended up not seeing the movie. Brian ended up calling me up while I was at work and invited me over to his house to watch the newest Harry Potter movie. Hanging out with other people is more enjoyable then going to the movies by yourself. So I told him I'll be right over.
I met up with Brian and Danielle at his house. We ran some errands, ordered Chinese food, and got all situated on the couches. They didn't have any drinks. Luckly for us though, his parents were out shopping. They came home with some beverages and Sabrina spent the rest of the night trying to get me drunk. Seriously, I'm normally all about the clean living, but that woman kept forcing these drinks down my throat. Really. Alcohol? I never touch the stuff. *looks around* What? I telling the truth!
She put an orange slice in my glass too that kept fizzing like pop rocks everytime it had beer poured on it. I had some really frothy beers.
The Harry Potter movie was good, at least it seemed good. I wasn't paying the closest attention to it. By the time it was over I was starting to feel pretty good. Afterwards we all gathered around the table and played this board game called imaginiff. The point of the game is to move your little piece to the middle of the board. The way you do that is by rolling a die and moving this grey thing around this ring that has the players names on it. You then pick a card and read off what it says. They're all phrases with a blank part you fill in with the players name the grey piece is on. For instance, the grey piece is on Sabrina's name. You pick a card and it says imagineif _____ were a potato, how would she be cooked? Then it gives you a list of six choices. You have number cards and you put your number face down on the table. Once everyone is done answering you flip the cards over and the people who answered with the most popular answer get to move their little piece around the board. Then hillarity ensues.
We played yahtzee after that, but I lost terribly so lets never mention that game again.
Let's see, what else? It was getting late by this time. We popped in 40 Year Old Virgin. Sabrina and I munched on some of the leftover chinese food. We were done with the drinks by this time. I think we finished off 12 between the two of us. It was mostly Sabrina though, since, like I said, I hardly drink *nods head*.
Danielle left shortly after. The evening ended with me being the only one in the house still awake by the end of the movie. Once they lay down on the couch its over. I should just tell them goodnight when I see one of them put their head down. It was past 4 by the time I left. You know you've been up too long when birds are singing when you walk out to your car. At least the sun wasn't coming up yet. When the sky starts getting lighter on your way home, thats a good sign you're are going to have a rough day.
Overall it was fun. That's the first time I've heard more then 2 words out of Danielle. I try to keep work and play as separate as possible, now we have another library person who will soon be exposed to my weirdness. I'm a good boy though, so its all good *looks around for his halo that he keeps losing*
*sigh* I should get some work done today, but I don't wanna!
I have to clean out our webserver of all the files I don't use anymore for the webpage. I guess the backup is taking a really long time. I took a look at some of the folders. One of the image folders has over 600 images in it. That's just one image folder, I still have 2 more elsewhere >_<
