I finally gave in and bought a 37 inch HDTV this weekend. Good googa-mooga! I should have done this ages ago! My old tv is maybe 24 inches at best and was starting to crap out so this was like getting rid of my beat up Corolla and replacing it with a Ferrari.....that can fly and microwave hot pockets! I started watching old dvds and the quality difference is just major. The only downside was I was sitting only 5 feet away so when I was watching the original Friday the 13th, after the opening credits when the screen goes totally BRIGHT WHITE before the next scene I coud only see floating rectangles for a minute or so but, it was still cool!
Then yesterday, we celebrated my niece, Skye's 2nd birthday. My mom gave her a tricycle and I gave her this thing called a Fropper which is like a tricycle except you push with your feet instead of peddling while bouncing up and down on the seat. It took her a while to figure out what to do. When she saw the Fropper she let out a squeal of joy and my big brother could not get it out of the box fast enough and then, she spent the next 5 minutes pushing it all over the house with my mom and sister-in-law running after, "no Skye, you go like this, you go like this" with their arms out and bouncing up and down. My dad warned my mother to be careful or she might confuse Skye who would then have to redo potty training. Later on, after dinner we had cake. Skye did not realize what was going on as we sang Happy Birthday to her but then, we laid the cake down in front of her and immediately she climbed on to the table with her hand out ready to grab a chunk before my sister-in-law got a hold of her so we could blow out the candles first.
All in all, it was a good weeked.

It would be great to have Steve back in the band. Wish that would happen. Maybe it will someday.
