So I've been seriously MIA for a while.. and will continue to be. I'm headed to
Costa Rica for 16 days, taking my sister and dad. Fishing, SCUBA, kayaking,
white water rafting, canopy tours, mud baths, hot springs, and 25 cent beers.

Sweet.

I find that I'll be shifting around a great the next couple of weeks. I'll be in Juarez, Mexico
next week, Camp Rainbow--a kids with cancer camp, and then Boston/Martha's Vineyard
after that... nothing like summer to be a ramblin' man.

Life is returning to normal--as normal as things can be. I've got some time
to rest doing Child Psych right now and it sure helps to help others. Thanks
for the love, kids.

I can't imagine what my life would be like without my parents, a sembalance of normal is about as good as it gets. But, if you ever need anything-- you know where to find me.

Sometimes life hits you hard. My mom passed away this
Monday and the four days since then have been the longest
of my life. I'm a total momma's boy...

But she's had cancer for eight years--we knew this was
coming. We just didn't have a clue that it would be coming
this quickly. She got diagnosed with 6 months left to live

I am so sorry. Even when you know it's coming, it doesn't make it any easier.
I find myself crying sometimes in the ICU when I see patients with their families... saying goodbye...
I know what death is. I know why it exists.
But it doesn't make it any easier when there is so much love....
I'm glad you had all that additional time with her.

Man, I did an ultrasound for gestational age on one of our
inpatients. It turns out her expected date of delivery is going
to be September 1st--labor day. Badump-ah.

Just had to share that with everyone.
