I've gotten some questions and comments about my tattoo so I'll answer them...
1. Thanks to everyone for being so nice, I'm glad you enjoy it, I love it and will pass along the compliments to the artist 'cause he's the one who really deserves them
2. The story behind/inspiration for the tattoo grew out of the song "sunken treasure" by Wilco. In it, there is a line that says, "All the leaves we'll burn...and Autumn fires will return, yeah all the fires we burn...all will return"
Basically I wanted a chest piece that sybolized hard times and good times but without being obvious and cliche. The tattoo is not yet finished so I will explain it a little better. It's an oak tree with turning leaves.the leaves are being blown off, and then catching fire before coming back around to green again. (none of these are colored in yet, in fact it's only about a week old. My next session will be in late march/early april after my artist gets married.) The Idea is this: the tree symbolizes my life (stable, rooted) the leaves symbolize the hard times and good times that come and go. The wind blowing the leaves around, which will eventually comprise most of the background sybolizes the passage of time.
3. my tattoo artist is Craig Beasley, he works at Psycho Tattoo 1 in Atlanta. He is an incredible artist and friend. So go get tatttooed by that guy.
4. I've added a picture of the tattoo to my pics section, if you would like to see it better.
Again...Thank you for the kind words.
