So I know Lorelei uses that same lens (50mm 1.8f) that I have been using lately, but I noticed that her images are looking way sharper than mine. I currently shoot with a Rebel Xti while she shoots with a 7D so there really should not be that much of a difference, So I descided to do some shooting experiments today at a nearby park with my new reflector that I got a few months ago. I dragged Selene to be my model. Its great having a girlfriend to be my test subject.
Funny enough, found that a bunch of my friends at the park as well, so the test shoots were anything but serious. The guy in the last pic is my roommate.
So I got the sharpness I was going for.
What did I learn from this test shoot? First off the last couple shoots I have done have been SG style, but I wa sworking with less light. So I was shooting with a the apliture wide open. I was trying to mimic Cherry's depth a field shoots that she does so well. Unfornutely with this 50mm lens, when you open it up wide, it tend to get a bit soft. So I see myself doing some lens shopping sometime in the near future.
Oh and this last picture was on my data card as well, but I think it basically explains it self.
I put in the work to stay handsome
