Last night I was out with some people and they were all getting drunk and I decided to stay sober because I had gotten so drunk the night before. I was starting to feel really insecure because I realized how I seemed to be the only one in our group who people weren't naturally drawn to, you know? Like, I realized that every time I had a conversation it seemed like I was the one initiating it, never the other way around. And all the other people in the group could joke around with each other and jokingly flirt with each other and I couldn't, and it made me kind of sad.
Well, true to the biggest contridiction in my personality (the one where I'm dreadfully shy but still insist on bringing things out into the open) I talked to Lucia about it. She suggested I might be alienating some people with snide comments I tend to make which, if you know me really well, you understand I'm just joking, but some people might not get the joke.
I'm not sure if I want to give up my sarcastic side because I kind of like it, but Lucia sure helped me feel a lot better about myself.
I just wish I could have conversations with people in real life like I do on this site. Oh well.
