man oh man, am i happy.
i worked selling tickets at a carnival the past two days. see, my dad is a high ranking chicago cop, so he's people who knows people. anyways, one of his friends has a partnership in a carnival business and he owns the ticket booth. he needed someone to sell tickets, so whenever there's a carnival he's a part of in town, i set aside my weekend and make some money. i usually get 10 bucks an hour in cash ( ) but last night was even better. i could only work for 2 nights due to prior commitments. at the end of the 2nd night, or last night as they say on the streets, he gave me my pay. and a 60 dollar bonus. i am giddy.
i also just found out this morning that Kevin Smith's next movie will be "Clerks 2: The Passion of the Clerks". that made my year. Clerks is my favorite movie of all time, so i'm really looking forward to this. man i'm such a movie nerd.
going to see Hero today. hopefully i'll like it more than i liked Crouching Tiger.
oh yeah, i also found out Garden State is playing near my house. i really want to check that out, cause i'm pretty curious to see how Zach Braff makes a movie.
went walking in the rain last night due to a power outage and a crazy storm in my area. it was really cool. the highway by my house looked rad, what with all the rain and the lights, and giant pools of water near the viaducts. i was just lucky that i didn't get splashed with nasty ass puddle water by the vehicles, cause there was certainly enough water for that to happen.
the past couple days have been really good. i've been appreciating what i have more and more and been worrying less and less about what i don't have.
today, i am happy Halstingdon.

that's neat, though. it was pretty cool looking out the balcony... the only light was the cars going by, and you couldn't see the rain til the headlights illuminated it. very surreal.
