if you have not read this essay before, i highly recommend it.
susan sontag's "Notes on Camp"
to get a sense of what it's about, here's the opening:
Many things in the world have not been named; and many things, even if they have been named, have never been described. One of these is the sensibility -- unmistakably modern, a variant of sophistication but hardly identical with it -- that goes by the cult name of "Camp."
Such a great lady. She defines "camp" so perfectly and succinctly. Great, short piece. Read it.

In other news, i came down with a cold today
. I feel less than swell and i'm not getting television (horrible, huh?).

Oreck vacuum cleaners are great. I got one on that 30-day free trial business. It's so good i might keep it. it truly sucks up everything.

FOR ALL YOU MADISON PEOPLE:
there is a screening of Buster Keaton's "The General" tomorrow night 8pm at the overture center. only 3 bucks and there will be LIVE organ accompaniment (new print too i think!). before the screening (at 7) is some vaudevillian type performance to set the mood, eh. i wish i could go but i have class. if you like buster keaton or early silent comedies. you will enjoy.
all for now. mmmm reeses
