So yesterday the most adorable dog in the entire world came up to our house (he looks to be a golden retreiver mix about 6 months old). It was about to storm as it seems to always be doing here in Mississippi, so we took him inside, we didn't want him to get hurt in the storm. He stayed the night with us, made friends with our cats. We let him out to pee this morning and his owner came up in a truck, called his name a few times. I walked outside as this was going on, didn't even say a word and the dog came to me. The owner got in the car and drove off before I could even get a good look at them. I'm completely in love with this dog now, and I don't know what to do. He's obviously not very well taken care of, he has fleas and ticks all over him. We could take care of him much better, and if his owner really cared, wouldn't they have put forth more of an effort to get him back? Perhaps they thought he was ours because Snuggles was out in her cage but not visible. I don't know what to do now, I want to keep this dog.

He is cute! I can see that it would be hard to give up to someone who doesn't care for him or maybe even abuses him. Dogs seem to channel their devotion to the highest bidder. Who ever will give them the most attention, care, love and we can't forget to have fun with them(car rides swimming...etc....makes them feel human ya know!)

Two little girls on bikes came by the house while we were out playing in the rain... he followed them away and I haven't seen him since. Easy come easy go I suppose. Now the boy wants to get me another one, but that won't be for at least a few weeks. He says since he saw how I interacted with the dog (I looked happy according to him) he would be willing to get one now, which is a first in our 4 years together. So we'll see.
