Basic principles of hand-to-hand combat:
1. Be aggressive
2. Keep your eyes on the opponent
3. Distract the opponent
4. Disable or be Disabled
5. Vary the attack to fit the situation
6. Turn the defense into an unrelenting attack
7. Feel superior to the opponent, regardless of the latters' size or the evidence of strength
Well, fourth week in school, and I'm still hanging in there. I still need to get myself settled into a schedule of studying and doing work, because so far I'm putting stuff off till the last minute. I need to stop procrastinating; I really don't want this experience in school to be like my last (burn in hell AIS). My Friday class seems like it's going to the most involved class I have. Got to go do a lot of stuff outside of the school, which I tend to hate, but need to get used to. Overall, I like the class, I just hate the idea of walking up to people on election day and asking them if they minded me photographing them and asking them to sign a release form. Whatever, maybe it'll be a growing experience.
I had a job interview on Thursday. It seemed to go pretty well, and I think the woman who interviewed me liked me. I think I gave off a really good impression with her. The best thing about this job, it's a entertainment/ marketing company that specializes in alternate and guerilla advertising, and It's only a block away from school. Nice commute eh? The other cool thing about this job is that it's for a shipping position, but I would also be helping out other departments when they need, so I'd be getting some education in other areas of marketing and advertisising and design or what have you. I dig that.
I went to the premier last night. I've heard about this new club for awhile now, but never been to it. It is a pretty damn nice club. Very big. People have been telling me it's bigger than the Showbox, and i'm inclined to agree. It is bigger, but the layout is a lot more simple than the Showbox as well. I think it has a 1244 capacity, and the bar has an extra 240 person capacity. The bar, by the way, is probably the biggest and most wide open venue/concert bar, I have ever seen. Very nice. I got offered a last minute ticket to see the used by a friend, and I said what the hell. It was a pretty good show, except I'm just not impressed with the bled or atreyu.....sorry.
Last but not least, one thing was made apparant to myself last night, I have allowed myself to gain a little bit too much weight. I really need to get my ass back in shape and slim down, this is ridiculous. I've allowed myself to a little out of control, and I need to start doing some early morning excersing and start eating a little better, because, really there is no reason a guy my height should weight this much. So hopefully, this will be a kick in the ass to start doing some things to improve my health a little bit. That's it.
Well, I'm off to do schoolwork. If you feel the need, you can go here and check out the band I play. We have no music up yet; still waiting for someone to throw money at us so we can record a demo. Any takers?
