It’s been a while so I thought I should check in from my semi-isolation. I was off work for a month or so but I’m a hermit by nature so I had no complaints there. I’m back in the office again now, sadly, but I thought I would resurrect my quarantine fort for the long weekend anyway.
In spite of all the awful things that have happened and continue to happen here in Canada and around the world right now, there have been some bright spots over the last few weeks as well. It always helps to focus on the positive in times like these I find.
The cast of Last Man on Earth recently reunited on Zoom and raised funds for GetUsPPE.org. Seeing the gang all together again was great but it also made me miss the show even more. What I wouldn’t give for another season!
The Frasier cast also got together online to catch up and raise money for The Actors Fund. I grew up watching the show so it was a wonderful little walk down memory lane.
I missed the livestream with Bryan Fuller and some of the crew from the series Hannibal but thankfully it’s now on Youtube as well.
Even the cast of Parks and Rec reunited for a new episode! Filmed in isolation of course.
Next up is the Community virtual table read on Monday. Donald Glover is actually participating so I’m definitely excited to see the Greendale Seven together again (minus Chevy of course). Hopefully this will pave the way for the long-promised Community movie!
Music wise there’s been no shortage of livestreamed events as well.
Code Orange were the first out of the gate with their album release show broadcast on Twitch back in March. The whole thing was put together in two days which is especially impressive.
VampireFreaks hosted an online version of their Dark Side of the Con event recently and it went over so well they are doing it again tomorrow!
Trevor Something has also released not one but two new albums during the pandemic. His stuff is definitely worth a spin by anyone who enjoys sexy synthwave sounds.
