Summer is here once again and I don't think I ever really appreciated it until I started biking year round. Even in downtown Toronto biking in the winter kind of sucks. Here's to good weather - and short skirts too!
Since my last update I've been to a few concerts that were good fun. Back in May I caught The Birthday Massacre at the Mod Club. The place wasn't all that full sadly, but the show itself was fantastic. I've seen TBM open up for Mindless Self Indulgence and Jakalope before but this was my first time at one of their headlining shows. It was a killer set and I can't wait to pick up their live DVD when they finally release it.
More recently I saw Nine Inch Nails for the last time possibly. Trent has called it a day before though so I'm hoping the band will be back someday soon. If this is the end for NIN as we know it, then they went out on a high note anyway. Hearing them play I'm Afraid of Americans was a definite highlight. Here's a clip I found on Youtube:
I should also mention a local band called kidstreet that I caught recently. They played Tattoo Rock Parlour as part of Jagermeister's Dirty Dozen parties a few weeks back. I'd never heard of them before but they put on an entertaining set. Their music is catchy electronic type stuff for anyone interested.
Considering I don't drink, the whole Jager night was pretty cool. Meeting some local SGs, who also work as Jagerettes, was a big part of that. Shout outs to Agy, Shaddix and Lyth. I can't believe I just did a shout out. Anyway, Shaddix and Lyth were part of a live photo shoot that was all kinds of awesome as well.
I didn't really recognize any SG members there that night besides JackMcGinnis and I surprisingly. The Dirty Dozen is supposed to be a monthly event though so hopefully it catches on around the site.
Speaking of the site, is it just me or have the sets on the front page been extra amazing lately? In the past week alone there's been new sets up from Naruka, Sliver, Smash, Aleon, Shyla, Annika and Luscious!!! Hot damn!
Naruka and Sliver are both newly pink Canadian cuties by the way. Be sure to check out their fantastic sets and show them some love.
