Continuing from part one here are some more movies that I love to watch during movie night. Each one has special memories.
The Emperor’s New Groove — David Spade and John Goodman lead this wacky buddy animated comedy.
Ever After: A Cinderella Story — A different take on the Cinderella story with Drew Barrymore starring as the tough as nails Danielle.
Everest — The events of the 1996 disaster on Everest is told in heartbreaking fashion.
Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest — This animated musical about the dangers of deforestation is a roller coaster of fantasy fun.
The Fifth Element — This unconventional sci-fi adventure takes you on a mad ride through the stars. Bruce Willis is once again your every man hero kicking butt.
The First Wives Club — Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn are a trio of titans in this revenge comedy.
Fool’s Gold — Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey play a couple of treasure hunters in this adventure rom com.
The Frighteners — Michael J. Fox stars as a phony paranormal investigator who gets caught up in some real haunting madness. From LOTR director Peter Jackson
Ghosts Of The Abyss — James Cameron and Bill Paxton lead you in a wonderful documentary of the disaster of the Titanic.
Godzilla — The one from 1998 with some Simpsons cast members including Moe, Bart and Reverend Lovejoy. It is campy and unrealistic but I can’t help but loving it.
Gold Diggers: The Secret Of Bear Mountain — Christina Ricci and Anna Chlumsky star in this coming of age tale of two young girls in a small town having an adventure questing for gold.
Grumpy and Grumpier Old Men — Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau star as the bickering buddies John and Max in these madcap comedies of old friends and even older enemies.
Harry Potter — The series isn’t without its faults but it is still one of the best franchises that has been put to screen, no matter how people feel about JK Rowling.
Hatari — John Wayne leads a ragtag group of adventurers who are hired by zoos to get animals from the wilds of Africa.
The Help — An interesting tale of life in 1950’s Jackson Mississippi.
Hercules — Disney’s take on the Greek/Roman tale with a gospel soundtrack. You wouldn’t think it would work but it does.
Hidden Figures — The dramatic story of the ladies behind the space race.
The Holiday — My new favourite go to when the weather is frosty. Kate Winslet and Jack Black are adorable, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law are steamy and Eli Wallach is wonderfully spunky.
How To Steal A Million — Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole are off on a heist adventure.
The Hunger Games — The dystopian series led by Jennifer Lawrence is an interesting tale on the young adult book series. I also like Battle Royale which this definitely borrows from.
It’s Complicated — Meryl Streep leads this movie about the complications of relationships
King Ralph — John Goodman plays the future king of England in this cute 90’s film.
Kiss Me Goodbye — Have tissues ready as this movie is one you will need them for. Sally Field and James Caan star as a couple who are separated by death.
Little Italy — Cute Romeo and Julietish style movie… it’s also about pizza.
Little Shop Of Horrors — Rick Moranis leads this zany musical about a blood sucker from outer space.
Little Women — The 1994 version is my personal favourite version of the Louisa May Alcott book.
Midnight Madness — I really want to do a scavenger hunt like the one in this movie.
Midway — Either version of this is a good take on the Battle of Midway from World War Two.
Murder By Death — Murder Mystery from 1976. The humour might not be good for those sensitive types but it was hilarious for the time.
My Cousin Vinnie — Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei are #couplegoals even with their dysfunctions.
Nerve — Truth or Dare takes on a mad new digital version of itself in this thriller.
The Night They Saved Christmas — My ultimate favourite Christmas movie from 1984. What would happen if an oil drilling company were to dynamite near the North Pole, Art Carney and Jaclyn Smith star.
Now And Then — It’s a great story of growing up but not growing apart.
One Fine Day — Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney star as single parents who have to juggle life and their kids for a day once they miss their field trip.
Oscar — A zany trip of a mobster trying to go straight.
Pacific Rim — Monsters vs Machines turned up to 11.
Paul — A rude crude alien dude tries to get out of our world.
Pirates Of Penzance — The musical opera from Gilbert and Sullivan. If you know how to sing the periodic table you can thank this movie.
Pirates Of The Caribbean — The first movie is still the best but any moment involving Jack Sparrow can put a smile on your face.
Practical Magic - Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman star as witch sisters who conjure up trouble.
Ready To Rumble — If you like buddy movies and wrestling this movie is up your alley.
Renaissance Man — Danny DeVito stars as an unconventional tutor of some rowdy army recruits.
Rock’A’ Doodle — An animated adventure about an Elvis impersonating rooster.
Rock My World — An American band comes to England to write their next album and deal with the disappearance of their lead singer. They stay in the house of a down on their luck Lord and Lady played by Peter O’Toole and Joan Plowright who have to pose as their own staff while the band stays in their house.
That is it for part two. Part three coming soon.
Once again I hope you enjoyed it.
