So, I went to a rock show at a roller rink.
Ohh man, roller rinks.
The disco ball was reflecting light patterns onto the wooden floor. There were pre-teen white trash girls in slutty tank-tops skating by. I was instantly transported back to the days of late elementary school/early middle school, and the R-Way Skate Center in Portage. The best part is, the second we walked inside, as if on cue... "This Is How We Do It" started playing. Anyone that's ever been to a roller rink knows the kind of music they play is encapsulated in this one song.

On top of that, there was a boy there, who had to be 7 or 8 years old... who needed a bar of soap in his mouth so badly. He wouldn't leave our merch table alone.
His quotes include:
"I want you to get down on your knees so I can (thrusts his hips) *uhh* *uhh* !"
And:
"What is this music...?"
(I explained to him that it wasn't music just yet, that they were only getting ready to play music.)
"Whatever, all I know is that my music class can play better shit than this."
And finally:
"I know what boys like to do, and that's have sex!"
And there are a hundred more lines this kid came up with, that I can't remember. Maybe it's for the best.
***
Anyhow, I thought the show rocked, and people bought lots of merchandise, and all of the indie rock kids that showed up seemed really cool.
I would write more about my week, but, I'm lazy. And I just had to write about the roller rink show... because, well...
Ohh man, roller rinks.

thirty:
Did they play Rump shaker?

I don't know what's funnier: the roller-rink story or that little hornitos serial that introduced the comments.
