I have to do a shoot at a local Spa tomorrow. This will be my first time doing anything like this. I going through my usual pre-shoot ritual. Writing down steps with lighting set-up, I did a drawing of the layout of the rooms with locations of mirrors. Got my gear all spread out through out the living room and wife is complaining.
I will be bringing my portable lighting gear, non of the Monolights, softboxes and stuff. I will have two SB800s and a Vivitar 285HV, the D70s will be used for available lighting (it is pretty good at high ISO), the D200 will sport the PW and fire the strobes. I will have the Fuji S2 Pro on stand by attached to the flash bracket, most likely I won't use it but it will be there.
I will be shooting with a mix of candle light and strobes, so I got my gels ready and tripod ready. I bought about 200 tea light candles and some other big ones.
I'm also bringing good O'l umbrellas both shoot through and bounce.
The freaking place is loaded with mirrors which is good being that I will get away with one strobe but I will need to be mindful of where I stand. Oh I paid the place a visit already after they called me. Figure I should get to know the place if I could.
The masseuses will be part of the shoots also.
So I have been drinking a lot of water today didn't eat much, did some juicing. This is what I do before a shoot.
Later I will do a wiggle dance then listen to Black Sabbath then Funkadelics. Bang out some push-ups.
The money I make from the job will most likely go back to the spa for some relaxation.
