The past month or two I been getting walked on more than usual. And I noticed it's when I became more social. People find out I'm the nice one and act all friendly but eventually they ask for to much. For an example, a coworker is asking me to come in on days I'm not scheduled just because other people don't show, or now at my house, it's either headphones or no volume on TV. Now I'm watching TV or playing video games with subtitles. Just to make everyone comfortable. I'm always going out of my way to be courtious. Maybe I shouldn't be the guy holding doors open or maybe I shouldn't be a good listener anymore. It's about time I be selfish and worry about myself rather than others.

I'm sure everyone has dealt with/or continues to deal with something similar to your situation. My advice would be its never a bad thing to be nice. Trust me, you have the ability to positively impact others and yourself when you're nice. But not at the expense of your own feelings. If you feel as though you're going too far out of your way for people, just openly communicate your feelings instead of holding everything in & letting things build up. It's okay for you to just say NO (politely) sometimes even if it's provided with a. nice explanation as to why you feel you don't want to do something. (:
