Hey, I'm not wanting to step on your toes or anything. What do you think about the trash-rock group? Think garage & psycho-billy aught to be separate? If there were more of us, I'd say definately. Personally, I don't dig much straight ahead rockabilly, but stir in some punk & that shit kills every time. No need to do anything immediately, maybe see how many folks join & whether there's a big cross-over in our membership. Anyhow, let me know your thoughts. Or better yet, join trash-rock & let everyone there know, I already joined go psycho, at least for the time being.
Hrm... I never saw that group. I just looked under the keyword of "psychobilly" and I got the Country Music group. Ha. But yeah, I'd say garage and psychobilly are two completely different things and thus should be two completely different groups. Nothing againt trash-rock. I love trash rock. But psychobilly itself is a tribute to the rockabilly era with a punk flavor, which is something that I think garage lacks.
Like I said, it might sound like I'm talking shit about garage, but I assure you, I'm not. This is all fundamentally speaking. Even I'm wrong, the basic difference is in the connotations of the words too. Garage would seem more like a grunge style, like "get your three closest friends together and rock out, and see what happens." Psychobilly connotates more of a premeditative idea.
