Going to Germany! Woo fucking hoo!

Last night in "The Fox in the Attic" I read the chapters all about Hitlers Beer Hall Putsch in Munich. I love reading books--history or fiction--that describe places I've been or am about to go. In just a few days I'll be able to walk the same path these characters took in 1923.

Also, I have been informed by...

No, I haven't seen "Coffee and Cigarettes", but I'd like to.....god, I'm still meaning to see "Ghost Dog" by him and that's been out forever!

Let me give you a woo fucking hoo for your trip, sir. I shall celebrate by pouring champagne on myself and my disco dolly!

PEAS!

I planted PEAS over the weekend. And lettuce.

We had one of those excellent early springtime days here on Saturday so I smoked a big pipe of weedly weed and puttered around in the garden for the whole afternoon.

Even the blueberry bush--which we'd about given up on--shows signs of new growth already. Everything got fertilized and watered and truly dead things got tossed....

It sounds like a lot of fun as I love to be a people watcher, but I'm pretty sure it's not my wife's cup of tea.

I want that program! Oh man!
Rock on to your garden. I, on the other hand, was excited to discover nasturtiums out front, which grow without tending.
You win a prize! In my mind!

Have I mentioned that I'm going crazy for the Dutch?

I'm pretty excited about my trip to Munich--I leave in less than two weeks--but I'm now thinking about how much time I can afford to spend in Amsterdam in the summer. My friend in Munich is getting married to his German fiancee who lives up north of Koln, so I'm going to fly in and...

Hey how was the talk??? I love homestarrunner!
I love your bamboo/panda analogy!
I have been to Amsterdam twice; I have some Dutch friends. I LOVE it there. I totally tried to find a way to live and work there. My bf at the time wanted to as well, and was almost transferred there but it didn't work out. You should spend as much time there as possible!
Glad to here the kitty is doing well!

My best friend from junior high moved to Amsterdam. Even though she's back in the states, and we've mostly lost touch, I've wanted to go since, from all that she said then. I don't actually know too much about it, though, except for the craze for diseased tulips, which I read in The Botany of Desire (one of the most interesting books I've read in years).

And, by the way, 100 Demons is gorgeous. And I love her books of comics. humberthumbert got me into them, and then adapted some of them into a short play a couple of years ago.

Took Miss Kitty in for her follow-up visit. The surgeon was happy with her healing progress so she's free from the dreaded cone/lampshade/elizabethan collar. So that's a good thing.

The other good thing is that the visit was already included in the massive bill I paid last week.

The not so good thing is how vague the surgeon was about everything. Two of the masses...

Have you read much of her (Barry's) other stuff?

I couldn't be more excited that you're a librarian. When I die, I think I will go to the L.A. Central Library, if I work hard to deserve it.

It is such a huge gift to own a pet and have their lives intrusted to you.
When I made the decision to do what I had to do with my cat I felt horrible about it and still do.
But, I am glad he is no longer suffering.
I did have to start thinking about things from the moment I saw how sick he was and start assessing the situation right the as you are now.
It is a very difficult time and I wish you the best of luck as I know you will make the right decision.

Thank you for the well wishes and support. wink

Thinking a lot about cats and their mystical powers.

It's interesting watching Little Prince Buster interact with Miss Kitty. She's wearing the post-surgery cone and she has huge patches of fur shaved off with a big scar in the middle of each bald patch--I've been calling her Frankencat. And Scarface. There was a tumor on her face.

Anyway, we were worried he'd seize the upper...

Cats are mystical creatures indeed.
I wish Dan was not so extremely allergic.
He wishes he was not because he wants a kitty more than I do. The special visit made him very happy.
Even if we had to medicate him with two benadryl and some salve. It was worth it!

We have been talking about getting a Pug and naming him Woflgang but it's not the same.

The good news is that Miss Kitty is home from another trip to the Animal Medical Center. If anyone in NYC needs serious medical attention for their animals, this is the only place to go. They are fucking amazing.

Anyway, Kitty had some growths that had to be removed--they turned out to be benign, but one never knows what might have developed if left untreated....

I found A-Z at my mother's house in a pile of old CD-R's by the computer. I almost had a fit, such treatment of my music!
I think it is time for me to go into counseling to not let my parents and their lack of caring bother me anymore.
It's all the same and it will never change so why give myself a hissy over it.

I also have Commercial Suicide on hand at all times!!!
And have really been needing A-Z to ease my mind.
Colin Newman is one of my all time favorites since I was about 14.

I am glad to hear Miss Kitty is doing better.
I really thought you said it was a nightmare, as in a dream you had. I am sorry I misinterpreted that.
Any kitty sickness is a nightmare and I am glad she is better. smile

I've heard of Peter Straub! Coolness.

Mmm...I like your party idea much better. love I want to be a pretty pony with birthday cake smeared all over myself, and oh yes, with Elektra_Descends licking it off! love

Without a doubt, that was one of the top 3 Fall concerts I have ever seen.

Too swamped to post a full review right now, but check out these pictures (not taken by me):

The Fall at the Knitting Factory 2/10/05

More Fall at the Knitting Factory

The hotsie mama playing keyboards is Mark E. Smith's wife. That'd be wife #4 or maybe #5.

WHat better cure for the wintry blues than a double whammy of Elvis and The Fall?

Tonight I'm getting together with a friend to resume our Elvis movie project. We're about halfway through watching every single Elvis film. We're planning on writing up our findings when we're through, but we've already discovered that these films have been grossly misrepresented. They're not all about a young...

Oh. My. GOD-----You saw The Fall last night?! Please give me a full report! I adore them. What a rare and unbelieveable treat to see them live--I am so jealous. Tell me if Mark E. was coherent at all. Tell me if Brix is still in the band. Tell me if they did "Barmy". Wow.

Hope it was great, lucky boy! kiss

What are horrid dream.
That would have devastated me as well!
I am very sensitive when it comes to my kitty and dreaming as mine are very lucid.
Even when I was a little girl I would get so scared after a nightmare and never know if it was over when I awoke.

These days nightmares seem to mesh with life.
Lifemares is what I will call them.

It's starting again...

I'm annoyed by everything I'm supposed to be doing for work so I end up spening far too much time on SG. Lurking more than posting these days too...

It's clearly some sort of depression thing. Maybe a dose of sunshine will cure what ails me.

No. It would not be a cliche.

I have not been on here too much myself and am a bit burnt out on this "computer reality" myself.

I like to play with my photo editing software and distort reality offline these days.
I sometimes need to get things off my chest, talk to my friends, and upload some naked pictures of myself like any other normal person.
I did throw some panty shots to balance things out.

well apparently he's a very opinionated guy who doesn't like many people and some people say his movies suck

however i have never met him so i am not going to pass judgments on him
but i do like him, his music, and his movies
